Ferrari made a rollercoaster. Yeah, it’s pretty fast
Picture yourself riding in a Ferrari on a track – a roller coaster track! It may not be the biggest or the scariest but it has to be the absolute coolest roller coaster on the planet. This spring Ferrari lent its technology to a roller coaster in the Arabian desert which allows thrill-seekers to go from zero to 62 miles per hour in two seconds. That’s TWO SECONDS!
The New Jersey Ferrari dealer is as impressed with this new ride as with Ferrari’s new line and staff member would love a chance to journey overseas and take a ride. The coaster subjects riders to 1.7 g’s through 70-degree corners and its top speed is almost 150 mph, definitely earning the title of world’s fasts roller coaster, a title which has been held by the Kingda Ka at Six Flags Great Adventure and Wild Safari in New Jersey.
The multi-billion dollar theme park Ferrari World, which will spotlight the Formula Rossa coaster designed by Jack Rouse Associates, will open this fall on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island.
The ride is centered around the concept of Formula One racing, but will seat eight “drivers” rather than just one. The coaster car is pulled along a launch area for 400 meters almost like an aircraft carrier launching a jet. During the 1.3-mile track the coaster completes a series of sweeps and goes over a 170-foot rise.
All guests on the ride will wear goggles to protect them from the heavy sand and dust storms which sometimes pop up in the desert where the ride is located. Other thrill rides in the park include a flume ride though the plumbing of a 599 V-12 engine, the Ferrari F430 race simulator and a free-fall plunge ride.
Sounds like the ultimate thrill park. Too bad it’s not closer. Customers of New Jersey Ferrari dealer are probably thinking the same thing.
